Link's Elegy

Every link in a chain and fiber in a belt is precious.
When any link is broken the engine moans
    She groans.
The bike shudders
    Sputters

Oh how the pipes boomed
    the wind blew
All on that loud peaceful road
Through rain, through snow, through heat, or cold
    the bike pushed through and the link held true

Now the link is broken
The bike is less than whole
Now the link is broken
The bike has freed its soul
